From Test::Simple to Test::Extreme - Introduction 3

Perspective

  • Part of the problem is that Software Engineering is a new discipline

  • We don't yet have the experience to engineer software like we engineer bridges

  • ... and we sometimes even get it wrong with bridges...

    • Tacoma Narrows, 1940

    • Winds ripped the bridge apart a few months after it was built. This was due to:

      • aerodynamic instability

      • ...or vortex shedding

      • ...or random turbulence
